Dear Sizzix: Bring on the Summer Fun!

School's out, the sun is shining, and all is well to start the summer off right! To help you start your summer scrapping, here are some fabulous ideas from Sizzix!

A scrapbook page all about your amazing day at the beach!  This page features some delicious looking Summer Fruit which you can find here!

























INSTRUCTIONS:
Create a scrapbook page out of colored cardstock. Die-cut Ribbon Circle out of cardstock, highlight with a Versamark pen and adhere to page. Mat patterned paper on cardstock and adhere to page. Die-cut Decorative Swirls out of cardstock and adhere to page. Crop photo to size and adhere to page. Die-cut letters out of cardstock using the Summer Block alphabet, mat on cardstock and adhere to page. Die-cut Citrus Wedge & Slice and Watermelon Slice out of cardstock and glitter paper, layer colors adhere to page. For added dimension, emboss the Watermelon Slice using an embossing folder and embellish Watermelon rind with a Versamark Pen.






How about a savory strawberry card?  Or some fun Summertime Paper?




















INSTRUCTIONS:
Create a card base out of cardstock and layers of patterned paper. Tie a ribbon around card front. Die-cut Strawberries out of cardstock, layer colors and adhere to card front. Embellish with jewels, buttons and string.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Die-cut Album pages out of chipboard backed with cardstock. Trim photos to size, mat on cardstock and adhere album pages. Die-cut shapes out of cardstock, layer and adhere to pages. Bind pages together with a metal ring. Embellish with ribbon.




Who can resist watermelon in the summer? Doesn't it just hit the spot? Give away a little sweetness this summer with this super cute Watermelon Gift Bag!

























INSTRUCTIONS:
Die-cut Bag out of cardstock and patterned paper and assemble. Die-cut Watermelon Slice out of cardstock and layer colors. Adhere small black snaps as seeds. Use sewing machine to add decorative trim to the bottom of the Watermelon Slice. Embellish with a button, flower, string and ribbon. Adhere embellished Watermelon Slice to Bag. Die-cut Phrase, Sweet out of cardstock and adhere to the Bag.




And just for kicks and giggles, let's bring some of that summer fun inside with this adorable Bird and Branches lamp!

























INSTRUCTIONS:
Use fusible web to adhere two pieces of fabric together. Die-cut Bird from fabric. Finish edges with zig-zag stitch on sewing machine. Apply fusible web to various fabrics. Die-cut Leaves from fabric. Hand cut branches from fabrics. Stitch edges of branches if desired. Attach all die-cuts to lampshade using a warm, not hot, iron or use fabric glue. Embellish with pen and buttons.

    I love the watermelon purse! I have a friend who grew up on a watermelon farm, and collects watermelon items, it would be perfect for her. And anyway, doesn't watermelon just say SUMMER to you? It certainly does to me!
