A Little Inspiration & Oh My Crafts Vinyl

Saturday, December 31, 2011

Angie Ramirez over at A Little Inspiration recently gave a review on her blog all about Oh My Crafts Vinyl. We're happy to say we passed our review! We wanted to share what Angie had to said as well as some of the projects she created using Vinyl.

Angie gave us a rating of 5 out of 5 Hearts as she loved that there are so many Vinyl colors to choose from and that the Vinyl works great with any cutting machine. She also included an adorable tutorial of how to use Oh My Crafts Vinyl to create a holiday phrase for your wall!

You can read her full review and post by Clicking HERE!

Angie's second post using Oh My Crafts Vinyl included projects for Christmas! She first created a cute frame with a Christmas tree accent cut out of Ruby Glitter Vinyl.

The second project used Vinyl to decorate plain ornaments.

You can read the full tutorial by Clicking HERE!

Angie's last project was a tutorial for a bird silhouette for her daughter's wall.

Isn't that little birdie adorable?

Transfer Tape is a great tool for positioning vinyl as there are grid lines on the Vinyl to help you align your project. You can also see through the semi-transparent Transfer Tape, so placing your Vinyl in just the right place is easy.

We want to thank Angie for reviewing our Vinyl and sharing her adorable projects with us :)

American Crafts : POW Glitter Paper
Bazzill Basics : 12" x 12" Cardstock - White, Black Tie

Doodlebug : Sugar Coated Cardstock
Sizzix : eclips Cartridge - Backgrounds, Edges, and Flowerful Alphabet

Instructions for the Inside of the Card:
1. Cut the Black Tie cardstock 6" x 12" and score down the center. Fold in half to create the base for your card. Cut a strip of the Black Tie cardstock 3½" x 1". Measure ½” from each of the ends and score, then score down the center of the strip. Set
the 3½" x 1" piece of cardstock aside for later.
2. Cut two

Cut the watch hands out of the Black Tie cardstock. Take the 3½" x 1" piece of cardstock from Step 1 and adhere the clock to the scored center. Attach the scored edges of the strip to either side of the card's crease to create a pop-out element.

5. Adhere a picture to the left side of your card on the picture mount.
6. Add your party information to the right side of your card on the cardstock mount. This can be typed or hand written according to your preference. The text in this project was typed.

Instruction for the Front of the Card:
1. Cut a piece of the POW Glitter Paper to size and mount on the front of the card. Also cut out a piece of White cardstock and adhere in the center of the POW Glitter Paper.

Cover:
Select a piece of paper from the Winter Park kit and trace the paper to fit the clear scallop page. Cut out the scallop shape and ink the edges of the paper with the Brushed Corduroy ink pad. Adhere the paper to the clear scallop page. Cut the phrase "WinTer TiME" in size 1.78” and ink the letters. Cut "2011" out in size .56”. Adhere the scroll snowflake sticker and the small blue snowflake to the page. Adhere letters and numbers. Use the small red star sticker for the 0 in 2011.

Page 1:

Ink the edges of the chipboard page with the Brushed Corduroy ink pad. Spray the entire chipboard page with the Mister Huey's Plum Thumb color mist. Cut a 4" x 6" picture mount out of the Winter Park kit as well as corners for the photo mount. Cut out two tickets from ticket page and ink the edges. Using the Punch All Over the Page Punches, punch a Scallop Square and Nordic Snowflake. Layer the snowflake on top of the square and ink the edges of the square. Mount the photo mount, Scallop Square and Nordic Snowflake, and tickets. Use small stickers to write out the title for the page. In this case, "Sundance."

Page 2:

Using the Nordic Snowflake punch, punch 5 snowflakes and adhere to the felt with glue. Set aside to dry. Take one of the chipboard pages in album and cut it in half. Cut one half with the Sizzix Ornamental die and spray with Calico White color mist. Ink the edges with the Brushed Corduroy ink pad. Glue the Ornamental shape down, only putting glue on the sides and bottom, NOT ON THE TOP. Cut a square of paper 2¾" x 2¾" and ink the edges. Attach the snowflake tag to the top left of the paper and place the paper into the pocket. Use the tag to pull the paper out of the pocket (see photo below).

Page 3:
Trace a piece of paper from the Winter Park collection to fit the clear scallop page. Ink the edges with the Brushed Corduroy ink pad. Cut a piece of kraft paper 6" x 4", tear the edges slightly, and ink the edges. Cut a piece of paper slightly smaller than the kraft paper for a picture mount and ink the edges. Glue the picture mount to the kraft paper, and attach the entire piece to the scallop page. Cut 5 white snowflakes and ink all the edges. Cut out a Sizzix Tag and ink the edges. Mount the snowflake and tag on the page.

Page 4:

Using the Sizzix Bigz die, cut 2 large snowflakes out of patterned paper. Ink the edges of the snowflakes and adhere to the felt page of the album. Using the "tis' the season" sticker, ink the edges of “the season” and attach to the felt page.  Punch out a Martha Stewart Scallop Square, ink the edges and attach below the snowflakes along with the sledding sticker.

Page 5:
Spray the chipboard album page with the Calico White color mist. Ink the edges with the Brushed Corduroy. Stamp snowflakes using the Chili Powder ink pad. Allow time to dry. Cut a picture mount 5" x 5" along with picture corners, ink the edges and adhere to the page slightly off center. Use the EKSuccess powder tool to remove the sticky background from the snowflake and snowboarding stickers. Adhere both stickers with 3L Foam Squares.

Back Cover:
Cut a piece of striped paper 6" x 6", and tear the edges to get a slight white edge. Cut a picture mount 5¾" x 5¾" and ink the edges. Attach picture mount to the clear album page. Attach a tree sticker and 10 sticker words to the left of the picture mount. Punch out 2 snowflakes out of colored cardstock, ink the edges and attach to the top right side of the picture mount along with the I{heart}WINTER sticker.
