It’s That Easy "Quilled Flower" Created by OMC Designer Whitney
Supplies Used:
Imaginisce : Petal Roller (Quilling Tool)
Bazzill Cardstock : Parakeet, Bouquet, and Desert Marigold (Quilling Paper)
Glossy Accents (Clear Adhesive)
Basic Grey : Indie Bloom Collection Pack and Accessories (Card Base)
Instructions:
1. Wrap
- Slide one end of a ¼” x 12” strip of Bazzill cardstock through the end of the Petal Roller tool. Hold the tool with one hand and start turning the tool so the paper creates a basic coil shape. Use your other hand to evenly guide the paper.
- For this project 6 purple, 2 green, and 1 yellow strips of cardstock were wrapped into loose coils, and 1 green and 2 yellow were wrapped into S-shapes.
- Since Bazzill cardstock has a solid pigment all the way through the center of the paper, it works great for quilling. If you use paper with white in the center, ink the edges.
2. Shape
- Shape the 6 purple and 2 green loose coils into a teardrop shape by pinching one side of the coil to create a point. Apply glue to the loose end to secure the coil.
3. Adhere
- To adhere the quilled shapes to a background, pour a small amount of glue onto a plastic container lid, dip a paint brush in the glue, and brush the glue onto one side of the quilling. Place the quilling directly to the background.
- This 6”x6” card was made from Basic Grey’s newest line called Indie Bloom. Check out Indie Bloom’s coordinating embellishments such as stickers, pre-made flowers, brads and buttons!
Happy crafting!
Wow, it's that easy? Either that or you are just that good at explaining! I must try this. I've seen many cards with this and always wondered how to do it. Thank you for the step by step instructions. Have a great day!
