Wood and Metal Message Board
Created by OMC Designer Lindsey
Supplies Used:
Wood and Metal Message Board (Can be found at your general craft store)
Black Craft Paint
BoBunny : Serenity Collection Pack
Martha Stewart : Decoupage Glue and Sealer with Brush
Bottle Cap Inc. : 1 Inch Bottle Caps
Tim Holtz : Distress Ink Pad - Black Soot
Basic Grey : Magnetic Discs
EKSuccess : Ek Tools - 1 Inch Circle Punch
Inkssentials : Glossy Accents
Glue Dots
Instructions:
1. Cut strips of paper from the collection kit to the width of the raised edge of the board. Cut the pieces in random lengths to help create visual interest and adhere to the edges of the board.
2. Once all the strips are adhered down, ink the edges of the frame with the Black Soot ink pad. Cover the strips with the Martha Stewart decoupage, sealing the paper to the frame.
3. Find a piece of patterned paper that you like from the collection kit and cut to the size of the metal within the frame. Add 5 Glue Dots to the paper to attach it to the metal, 4 in the corners and 1 in the center.
4. Punch out several 1" circles of patterned paper using the EK Tools punch. Using a Glue Dot, adhere the circle pieces to the centers of each of the Bottle Caps. Cover the paper circles with the Glossy Accents to not only seal the paper, but give it a glossy finish. Adhere the magnets to the opposite side of the Bottle Caps.
Happy crafting!
Cute idea. Thanks! What brand is the metal frame?
ReplyDeleteStephanie, We purchased the magnetic frames a couple of years ago from a local crafter. Those exact frames are not available anymore, but we found a couple of blogs that have easy instructions on how to make your own. Hope they are helpful to you!
