Merry Christmas from OMC!

The Christmas Gift of Knowing You
By Joanna Fuchs

 The Christmas season fills our hearts with joy;
Bright, happy days bring special kinds of pleasure.
We're wrapped in the excitement of it all,
The sights, the sounds, the smells, the tastes we treasure.

Yet when we have some quiet time to think
About our finest blessings all year through,
We focus on our family and our friends,
And appreciate the gift of knowing you!

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas!

Snowflakes Wood Decor

Snowflakes Wood Decor
Created by OMC Designer Jill

Supplies Used:

OMC Snowflake Wood Shapes
Tim Holtz : Distress Stain - Walnut
Tim Holtz : Distress Ink Pad - Walnut
Martha Stewart : Acrylic Craft Paint - Pearl Jet Stream, Mother of Pearl, and Wedding Cake
Ranger Ink : Stickles Dry Fine Glitter - Waterfall and Diamond
Mod Podge
Large File for sanding
BoBunny : Snowflake paper
May Arts : Net Ivory and Net Brown

Instructions:
1. Trace the shape of your snowflake onto your paper and cut out.
2. Stain the edges and back of the snowflakes that you will cover with paper.

3. Paint the sides, front and backs of the snowflakes that you are not covering with paper. Apply a base coat of plain white and plain blue before you apply the pearl colors. The paint will cover better. Let dry.
4. For the paper snowflake, glue your paper to your snowflake with mod podge. Apply enough to help the paper adhere well, but not too much! Press down firmly with a brayer. If you don’t have a brayer press very hard with your fingers, making sure everything is secure. Let dry. Sand the edges of the paper to distress the wood and to take off any excess paper that might be hanging over the edges.

5. For the painted snowflakes, sand the edges and the front of the snowflake with a large file to heavily distress the paint.
6. Ink the edges of all the snowflakes. Ink the front of the distressing on the painted snowflakes.
7. Apply a coat of mod podge to the sides and front of each snowflake. Before moving onto the next snowflake, sprinkle glitter from up high to the fronts and sides before the mod podge dries.
8. Drill holes into the sides of one point on each snowflake to have a place to tie a piece of net to hang it.

9. The large snowflake should have the smallest hanger.
10. Staple the smaller snowflakes net to the back of the large snowflake so that they hang from behind at different lengths.
11. Display!

Happy Thanksgiving from OMC!

We here at Oh My Crafts want to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Most of All

Thanksgiving Day brings to mind
the blessings in our lives
that usually go unnoticed:
a home that surrounds us
with comfort and protection;
delicious food, for pleasure
in both eating and sharing;
clothes to snuggle up in,
books and good entertainment
to expand our minds;
and freedom to worship our God.
Most of all we are thankful
for our family and friends,
those treasured people
who make our lives extra special.
You are part of that cherished group.
On Thanksgiving, (and every day)
we appreciate you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
