3D Paper Flowers

3D Paper Flowers
Created by OMC Designer Lindsey

Supplies Used:
My Mind's Eye : India Paper
Tim Holtz : Distress Ink Pad - Walnut Stain
Inkssentials : Ink Blending Tool
Tim Holtz : Tiny Attacher
Glue Dots : Pop Up Glue Dots Roll
Martha Stewart : Fringe Scissors

Instructions:
1. Cut out several 3 ½” circles. The size of flower will determine how many circles you will need to cut. The more circles your cut, the bigger your flower will be. Fold the sides of the flower in and staple at the point.
2. Repeat step 1 for every layer of circles, only drop the size down ½” with every layer (i.e. the second layer would be 3" circles, the third layer 2 ½” circles, etc.).
3. Cut a circle 5” and use the Glue Dots to adhere the stapled circles in place. Securing the circles to the 5” circle will hold together the shape of the flower.

3. To create the flower center, cut a strip of coordinating paper about 8" long. Using the Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors, cut across the top of the strip, only cutting about 2/3 of the way through. Wrap the strip into a circle and use a Glue Dot to hold the strip in place. Bend the cut strips outward. Attach the flower center to the center of the flower with more Glue dots.

4. Once the flower is completed, use the distress ink and the Ink Blending Tool to ink the edges of the flower.

Look how these fabulous dimensional flowers add color and character to this mirror!

What to do with Stampendous Fran:tage

The Stampendous Fran:tage Embossing Enamels create beautiful gilded effects that can be used on a variety of projects from wood shapes to paper to cards to layouts! When used with the Glass Glitter and Mica Fragments, the results create spectacular textures and lots of visual interest.

Supplies Used:

Wood Designs : Classic Frame
Wood Designs : 12" Big Letter L
Stampendous : Fran:tage Embossing Enamels - Aged Gold
Stampendous : Fran:tage Glass Glitter - Champagne, Silver
Stampendous : Frant:tage Mica Fragments - Gilded
Tim Holtz : Distress Ink Pad for Embossing
12" x 24" Cardstock
Martha Stewart : Acrylic Craft Paint - Glitter Florentine Gold, Satin Acorn
Embossing Heat Tool
Mod Podge

Instructions:
1. Trace the wood shape onto a piece of 12" x 24" cardstock and cut out.
2. Paint the wood shape with coordinating acrylic craft paint.
3. Stamp a small area of the traced cardstock cut-out with distress embossing ink, then cover the ink with embossing enamel first, then the glass glitter and finally the mica fragments. Using an embossing heat tool, heat the mixture from beneath the cardstock until the embossing enamel melts and solidifies.

**WARNING** Embossing enamel is very hot so do not touch the enamel until it is cooled.

4. Section by section, repeat step three to cover the entire piece of cardstock with the embossing enamel, glass glitter, and mica fragments.

TIP: The cardstock shape may tend to curl when it is being enameled. For the frame shape, I left the cardstock under some weight overnight to remove the curling.  This may be necessary with larger sized projects.

5. Once the cardstock shape is completely cooled, adhere the enameled cardstock to the front of the wood shape using Mod Podge.

Dress Form Wood Shape

Dress Form Wood Shape
Created by OMC Designer Sandy

Supplies Used:

Wood Designs : Dress Form

Tim Holtz : Distress Stain – Dried Marigold, Brushed Corduroy (any stainto match)
Tim Holtz : Distress Ink Pad – Brushed Corduroy
Mod Podge : 8 oz Matte
Quickie Glue : Pinpoint Roller Adhesive
Elizabeth Craft Design : Glitter Ritz – Simply Pastels Green Tea

Instructions:

1. Lightly sand the edges of the wood with a nail file. Dust off the residue.

2. Trace the dress form.
3. Cut out and trim the shape. Repeat if doing the backside.
4. Stain the edges of the wood shape with the Dried Marigold stain and let dry. Stain the edges of the stand.
5. Using a foam brush, paint an even coat of Mod Podge across the top of the dress form being careful to not get any Mod Podge on the stand. Place the cut out shape on top of the form and use a brayer to roll over the surface. This is an important thing to do to have a nice flat surface when dried.
6. Once dried, use the nail file to sand off the edges so that you have a nice clean edge. Ink the edges with a matching ink.
7. Highlight bits of the design by filling in small areas with the Quickie Glue pen and then immediately sprinkle glitter over the glue. Shake off the excess glitter and allow to dry.
8. Paint a final coat of Mod Podge over the entire piece including the stained portion. The Mod Podge will brighten the stain colors up too.
