Let's Get Card Making!

Saturday, October 2, 2010

It's product focus time!  So in honor of World Card-Making Day, which is today, we are going to focus on Sizzix's Texture Boutique.

Not only does this machine emboss fantastically, but it looks great while doing it- the purse design is actually  quite fun.  This machine is only 8" x 5" x 9", plus 2 1/2" for the handle.  And right now, Oh My Crafts is offering the Texture Boutique Bonus Kit- this kit will get you everything you need to begin creating those beautiful cards and embellishments that you have been dreaming of.

The Texture Boutique Bonus Kit includes:

• Texture Boutique Embossing Machine
• Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - Flowers, Daisies (Small)
• Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - Swirls and Dots (A2 Large)

Here are a few projects from Sizzix that were made using the texture boutique.  Click here to see even more ideas from Sizzix.

This Merry Christmas Tree card was designed by Deena Ziegler.

Instructions:
Create a card out of white cardstock. Emboss a design onto two pieces of ColorCore Cardstock. Lightly sand to highlight the design, trim and adhere to the card. Stamp image and sentiment onto white cardstock, trim and adhere to the card. Embellish with ribbon.

This Thinking of You card was designed by Debi Adams.

Instructions:
Create a card out of color-core cardstock. Emboss the card front using an embossing folder and lightly sand card front to highlight design. Emboss a piece of white-core colored cardstock using an embossing folder, sand to highlight design, and trim to size. Mat on white cardstock and adhere to card front. Embellish with a button, decorative trim, small flowers, ribbon and a tag.

Now, the Texture Boutique is often just thought of as an embossing machine for cards, but it can be used for so much more.

Check out his cute gift bag designed by Beth Reames...

Instructions:
Emboss a piece of cardstock using the Flowers embossing folder, sand to highlight design, trim to size and mat on cardstock. Use a computer to generate a sentiment. When printing, leave enough room for the embossed, matted flowers to be adhered above the sentiment. Adhere onto the front of a store-bought bag. Embellish with a ribbon bow.

And this Table Favor created by Beth Reames.

Instructions:
Emboss a piece of white-core colored cardstock and lightly sand to highlight the design. Trim embossed paper to fit around a small can and adhere to the can. Embellish with tulle, silk flowers, decorative pin and stamped sentiment.

So what are you waiting for?  Celebrate World Card-Making day with your Sizzix Texture Boutique.  You will not regret it.

I think you read my craft-mind! I'm not embossing, but I did just get a Silhouette SD, so I'm about to jump headfirst into the world of card-making!
