Instructions:
These custom gift boxes are made from one 12x12 sheet of cardstock and scraps of vinyl and white cardstock. Measure horizontally around the item you are creating the box for to make sure that all four sides are not larger than 12 inches.
1. Trim a 12x12 sheet of red cardstock 12x11 inches and place right side down on score board with paper positioned with 12 inch side across the top.
2. Score vertically at the following inches: ½, 5, 6 ¼, 10 ¾.
3. Turn paper one quarter turn to the left and make scores at 1 ¼ and 9 ¾ inches.
4. Find the ½ inch score line and trim off the little square on opposite ends. This should leave a notch at the top and bottom of the ½ inch score line.
5. At each of the vertical score lines trim off a small triangle on either side of the vertical score line up to the horizontal score line. This will create each of the flaps. There will be 3 score lines across the top and bottom of the box. Trim a 1x12 inch strip of black vinyl and adhere across the middle of the box for the belt.

9. Trim a 1x2⅞ inch piece of white vinyl for Santa’s fur and adhere vertically in the center above belt, this should not go to the top.
10. To make collar, trim a 1¾x12 inch strip of white cardstock. Position on an angle over the top right corner and pinch white cardstock together at corner (see video). Trim off excess on scored lines and position from center of box on angle to the corner. Trim off any excess on top. Flip remaining cardstock over and trace for other corner and then cut out.
11. Using a red Big Brush, draw scrollwork on each collar.
12. Glue collar down. Add two green holly repeats to white (fur) strip.

How sweet! Thanks for the wonderful directions!
I'm going to use these on my gifts for my grandchildren this year. I adapted the instructions for larger gift boxes! Thank you so much for the idea and instructions!
I absolutely love these boxes!!!! This is my favorite of all the projects! I always make candy and cookies for the holidays to give away to my friends and family... I usually use the cellophane bags... they are cute and they do the job, but these boxes are fabulous! They will really add that special touch! Thanks for sharing the details on how to make these! Keysha
