What the world really needs is more love and less paper work

Friday, January 29, 2010

......unless it's "paper work" of the scrapbooking and card making variety. Right? Because we could ALL use more of THAT. Anyway, you can find the fun quote above (by Pearl Bailey) in our quote library on Valentines Day. We've got a whole load of goodies that you're going to want on hand for making all your Valentine creations.

It was the Doodlebug holiday tree. Remember? *sigh.* It still makes us starry eyed.

We've had several questions on the darling little Valentine ornaments that hung daintily from the tree, created by Machelle Newman. These ornaments are really quite simple, and very fun to make! Plus, they lend themselves to hundreds of variations so that you can make a look that's totally unique to you! But here's the supplies Machelle used:
• My Mind's Eye "Be Loved" paper pack (get it before it's gone!)
• American Crafts ribbon
Bazzill jewels and flowers
• Fire Hearts and Candy Cane Stickles
• George and Basic Shapes cartridges (for all the shapes of the hearts).
• 5x7 Cuttlebug embossing folder from the OMC Exclusive SHAPES pack (you can see it in the 4th picture down)

Machelle particularly focused on layering, as you'll notice in these close-ups. But again, the options are endless! Sometimes she frayed the edges of paper by cutting small slits all the way around the heart. Other times she cut small slits in the middle of a heart to run ribbon through, which we thought was a pretty touch. Check 'em out!

So there ya have it! Doesn't it look like such a fun project? One for the whole family! (Or, at least the females in the household). And...if you do try 'em out....be sure to share your finished project with us!

Happy crafting!

Somebody's using our black i-top!

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

The Imaginisce black i-top is brought to you exclusively by Oh My Crafts.
*takes bow*

And guess who we spotted using it on Youtube? Here's a hint: He totally rocked CHA with tons of awesome new products that we all love using. Give up?

Tim Holtz! Here's what he's got to say in this short blurb:

(And to see Tim work more of his magic with new products introduced at the winter CHA 2010, visit our youtube channel!)

So check out this awesome technique Tim shares, all while using the OMC exclusive black i-top:

AND, speaking of the i-top, did you hear about the cool new Magnet Daddies? It's magnetic backing for your brads! The tool just keeps getting better. Look for that on our site—coming soon.

Happy crafting!

Psssst! We're showcasing another AWESOME Valentine project SOON, which features My Mind's Eye Be Loved. This paper pack goes quick so make sure to get yours from Oh My Crafts today before it's gone! (Want to know what project it is? Hint: we've posted a picture of it already!)

All you need is love.

Monday, January 25, 2010

Well CHA was a total blast. If you keep up with us on Facebook, then you've seen a bunch of updates and pictures of the action-packed weekend. And for the few of us left behind here at the OMC warehouse, we're anxiously awaiting everyone's return, and most especially to find out what sort of items they made off with. We'll be sure to keep you posted.

So let's focus on something else super exciting. What could that be? Valentine's Day, naturally! Have you checked out our selection of quotes we have for the day of looove? Here's an especially poetic one by dear old William Shakespeare: "Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs." Aaah. That quote either makes your heart flutter, or it's sappiness makes you sick. Either way, Valentines Day lends itself to some wonderful crafts, wouldn't you agree? Whether you're a card maker, a scrapbooker, a home decorator or what have you, there's definitely something great to do for the month of February, and we've got lots lines up to show you.

Here's a fun decór item designed by Lindsey Fillmore:

Wouldn't this look great on a wall or shelf? She used the Vintage Valentine pack from Fancy Pants—which we all adore—and various embellishments from Prima. She bought the letters from a local craft store, in the wooden section.

Here's some close ups:

That's all for today! For questions on this project, feel free to e-mail Lindsey at lindseyfillmore @ yahoo . com. Happy Valentining!

CHA sneak peeks—one last time!

Friday, January 22, 2010

Well CHA is underway TODAY! Woo-hoo! The wait is finally over! Party in Anaheim! A group of OMC members headed out of town yesterday and another group leaves tomorrow. So be sure to stop by our booth to say hello! We love getting to talk with you lovely ladies. And thanks for all the wonderful feedback on items you'd like us to carry. All of it will be passed along to our owners, who ultimately decide what we'll be carrying.

So now let's move into even MORE sneak peeks, our final installment. We've had a blast looking through all the fun new products, haven't you?

Material Girl is a great new pack from Cosmo Cricket. They've got several fun ones coming out, as a matter of fact, like Joy Ride and Garden Variety, as well as some great new chip letters. To see 'em all click here.

We always look forward to see what new goodies Imaginisce has in store. Among others, we happen to know that they've got some great additions coming out for the i-top—some you can see by clicking here—but more will come on that very soon. (Like, soon....) And indeed their new paper is out to impress. Here's two: the Live Loud collection and To Love and Cherish.

Oh, and then Karen Foster has some new fantastic eye-pleasers. Here's a sample of some:

Flutter!!! By Making Memories. Don't you love the name? And concept? Just to show how excited we are, let's add a few more exclamation points: !!!!!!!

Oooh, now My Mind's Eye has some total winners. Raise your hand if you squealed aloud when you took a look at the Lil' Robots collection. Be honest. And then there's Lush, Quite Contrary, and the 10th Anniversary edition of Frame Ups. What fun!

How darling is Sassafrass' new Nerdy Bird? Also pictured are the adorable journal tags from the Cherry Delicious line. Don't we all need a little Sassafrass in our lives?

Had enough? Never, right? Well, we've got one more for ya. SEI has three cutie paper packs that we can't help but adore. Happy Day, Jocelyn and Claire. True beauties, these are.

What about Basic Grey, you ask? Or Fancy Pants? Ah, yes. Well. As they say, patience is a virtue. BUT, if you want to see more sneak peeks, you can: A. Join us on Facebook and check out the selection of sneak peeks we have there. Or B. Here's a great site that lists tons of sneak peeks from tons of companies.

Happy CHA-ing!

More sneak peeks!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

CHA starts up this Friday, and we're chompin' at the bit. Will we see YOU there? Well we hope you enjoyed some of Monday's sneak peeks. We've still got loads more to share. And that's nothing compared to the actual amount of new product that will be revealed this weekend.

These are just to wet your whistle.

Here's some new items from Fiskars—new corner lever punches.

And everyone always loves what Maya Road has to offer. And it's no different with their new releases. Here's just a few items: Medallion Flowers (which, can words describe the adoration we feel?), Maya Resist (so cool!) and a look at a trinket blossom and canvas banner (*sigh, lovingly*). (Browse through their blog and you'll find even more peeks.)

As usual, Sizzix usually wows us with amazing new product at these events. One item especially should be a big to-do. And the details will be dished out at CHA. Are we excited, or are we excited? Here's pretty much all we'll say about that:

See, it's the mystery of it all that really has us on the edge of our seat.

And continuing on, here's some wonderful new Spellbinders label dies.

Gotta love these new ideas from Tattered Angels. There's something about adding Tattered Angels supplies to any craft product that makes it shine. Literally and metaphorically. Pretty deep for a craft blog, huh? Well anyway, introducing new Glimmer Mist colors along with the NEW Glimmer Glaze (plus some other neat new goodies—check it out)!

And last for today: Tim Holtz has got some new tricks up his sleeve! We're diggin' the new colors of distress inks, but he's got a whole bag of new ideas to show off this weekend.

See something you're just dying for us to carry? Let us know! We'll be ordering a load of products this weekend and would love to know what you're particularly into.

...Gotta go pack for Anaheim! Stay tuned for one more installment of peeks!

Happy basking in the love of new products!

Sneak peek to CHA!

Monday, January 18, 2010

CHA is going to be great. We can just feel it.

Oh—AND we sort of know it, based off of some of the amazing products we've seen getting ready to debut. We're gonna have a heck of a time deciding what to carry at Oh My Crafts. There's some real beauties out there. Want to see some?

Well, do ya?

...Of course you do.

Here's a few items from the new Brooke collection by Crate Paper.

And equally super-duper—Crate Paper's Pink Plum collection. Mmmmm. And that's just the start. Crate Paper's got even more to offer come CHA time.

And from Graphic 45 comes A Proper Gentleman, and On The Board Walk. (Among several others.) Has the excitement taken over yet?

Ooooooh and here's a darling one. Jenni Bowlin's cute new Homespun:

Here's two out of many of the new paper packs from Prima. A dainty and delicate look, we think: Flights of Fancy, and Raspberry Tea. Breathtaking.

And how fun is THIS? We R Memory Keepers' new pack 72 & Sunny. Is your mouth watering yet?

Welp, friends. That's that for now. We'll be showin' off sneak peeks all week, so stay tuned. You can also find more peeks on our Facebook fan page. Be sure to let us know which products you absolutely adore! That will help us this weekend while we're deciding what to carry on Oh My Crafts.

Happy crafting!

A little sassafras, if you please

Friday, January 15, 2010

Happy Friday to you! Hopefully you've got some fun plans for scrappin' and craftin' over the weekend! As for us, we're eagerly counting down the days until CHA! We can't wait to see all the newest releases from all the companies that we adore.

And speaking of companies we adore—today we'd like to showcase some AMAZING projects from our Sassafras peeps. Check out these sassafrassy-classy layouts.

These two, created by Kay Rogers, used the Amplify paper pad:

And these lovely lookers, by Peg Manrique and Marla Kress, use the Monstrosity paper pad. Are you lovin' it? We are:

And you'll love this one from Sweet Marmalade, created by Kimberly Garofolo Neddo:

Aaaah. Now wasn't that nice?

Happy crafting!
