One of the top questions that we hear at Oh My Crafts! pertains to which A2 embossing folders can be used with which machines.
Can I use Sizzix embossing folders in my Cuttlebug? Or, do the Cuttlebug folders work in the Sizzix Texture Boutique? What about the Big Shot, Big Shot Express or Big Shot Pro?
And what about QuicKutz? Can I use Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders in the Epic 6? And vice versa?
It's a whirlwind, really. Well, it doesn't need to be. Because we've got the answer to the sixty-four-thousand-dollar question.
The answer to your question is yes. Yes it works, and yes you can. It's liberating, isn't it?
These little A2 wonders—any of these brands mentioned—work across the entire spectrum of embossing machines. But one thing you should keep in mind is that each brand has different levels of thickness in their plastic, which could affect its performance in a different machine. For instance, our designers have found that to enhance the performance of a QuicKutz die in a Cuttlebug machine, adding an extra piece of cardstock paper as a "shim" under the plastic mats creates a much better embossed look. Capiche?
So, let's summarize.
Cuttlebug works with Sizzix.
Cuttlebug works with QuicKutz.
QuicKutz works with Cuttlebug.
QuicKutz works with Sizzix.
Sizzix works with Cuttlebug.
Sizzix works with QuicKutz.
It's like one big happy family.
Doesn't it make you want to go out and emboss something?
