********** Q&A with Machelle Newman on these vinyl projects THURSDAY 12/10/09 at 11 a.m. MST on our Facebook fan page! **********

Vinyl is so cool. It's completely versatile. Want some glam up on your walls? No problem. How about on glass vases? Whatever you dream up, vinyl can probably make it happen.

So, as usual, we asked our vinyl guru, Machelle Newman, to whip up some amazing project ideas. First on the list: vinyl-ed ornaments. Fun!

Machelle used her Silhouette for these letters, however the Cricut works with vinyl just as well. It's really just a matter of preference. For most vinyl projects, you'll want to use transfer tape to adhere your vinyl to its end product. To learn about using vinyl with transfer tape, click here.

Another fun thing to try with vinyl is decorating your table and dinnerware with vinyl. It's great for throwing Christmas or New Years parties.

Machelle did use a Cricut for these projects. She also used various colors of Oh My Vinyl, Joys of the Season, George and Basic Shapes cartridge. Here's more!

Another great thing about these projects—they're simple! And if you don't like where you placed your vinyl, you can peel it off and re-adhere it. It's great!

And finally, here's another great vinyl project—glass etching! To learn how to etch glass with vinyl, click here.

So there's our party ideas.

But let's here it. Who's throwing a Christmas party and what sort of crafty projects do YOU have in store?

Happy vinyl-ing!

Can vinyl be applied to a dinner plate where you would put food on top of it? would it need to be sealed?

Can you use vinyl on a dinner plate where you would put the food onto it? Would it somehow need to be sealed? Would it last through the dishwasher?

The easiest to do on a glass plate is that you would need to "flip" your image and cut so that you can put it on the back of your plate. MOST of the colors are the same front and back :-) Kristin LiebsLanding.com

How did you do the etching with color? Your video just shows the white etching and there are no instructions.
