Candle Décor Created by OMC Designer Whitney
A popular crafting trend is taking ordinary candles and adding crafting embellishments to coordinate them with home décor and seasonal decorations. For all of those crafters, Oh My Crafts has started carrying beautiful, high-end, battery-operated Candles that you can “light” without having to worry about what embellishments you put on them. Using these flameless candles opens the doors for so many more crafting options, such as wrapping the candles with paper, ribbons, vinyl and more. Here are a few ways I have decorated candles for a variety of occasions.
Christmas Candles
Supplies Used:
Candle Impressions : 6" Smooth Unscented Red Pillar with Timer
Candle Impressions : 4" Smooth Unscented Red Pillar with Timer
Martha Stewart : Deep Edge Punch - Skyland Snowflake
American Crafts : Glitter Ribbon - Solid Grass 3/8"
Elizabeth Craft Design : Shimmer Sheetz - Silver Metallic
Instructions:
1. Punch out two snowflake borders with the Silver Shimmer Sheetz.
2. Wrap the borders around the candle, trim excess borders and adhere end to end. (If you plan on changing the candle embellishments, do not adhere embellishments directly to candle).
3. Tie (or adhere) glitter ribbon around the candle.
Everyday Home Decor Candles
Supplies Used:
Echo Park : Times & Season Collection Kit
Candle Impressions : 3 Pack, 2", 3", 4" Mini Melted, Unscented
Candle Impressions : 6 Pack, 1.75" LED Votive
Prima : Firefly - Sandune
Twine
Instructions:
1. Cut 6 different designs of paper to 1 ½” by 2”.
2. Wrap around the candle and adhere ends together.
3. Wrap twine several times around a few candles and tie in knot.
4. Adhere Prima flowers to a few candles.
Springtime Candles
Supplies Used:
EkSuccess : Ek Tools - Butterfly Layering Punch
EkSuccess : Ek Tools - Round Flower Layering Punch
Candle Impressions : 3 Pack, 2", 3", 4" Mini Melted, Unscented
EKSuccess : Zig 2-Way Glue Pen (Squeeze & Roll)
Instructions:
1. Punch
Create 3 unique shapes from only one punch. Simply choose your design, click the selector into the correct position and punch. For best results, put the palm of your hand over the foil design, cover with other hand and punch. Listen for clicking sounds to make sure all the layers have been punched through.
2. Assemble
- With your fingers, roll the butterfly wings and flower petals upward to create a dimensional effect.
- Adhere the layers together using a glue pen.
3. Adhere to Candles
Wrap candles with twine and adhere dimensional embellishments to twine.
Overall, these battery-operated candles provide such a fun way to change ordinary candles into something truly extraordinary.
Happy crafting!

Looking to leave a comment on the Thanksgiving Turkey with Sizzik machine... (I bought one a year ago, and still havent had the courage to use it... LOVED your idea! Loved your detailed steps... very nice... hope I am entered in your contest.
Battery operated candles are perfectly safe. You can leave this type of candle unattended in ways you never could with a normal candle. The absence of a flame also means you can do more with your candles like having them in table centerpieces or nestled in flower arrangements.
Another great idea. Thanks for sharing.
